Steve
After earning his degree from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, Steve worked as a Project Manager for a few commercial trade contractors, before settling in at a commercial concrete and masonry company for 15 years, which definitely felt like coming home. Steve is a Captain with the Ham Lake Fire Department, serves as a lay minister with Family of Christ Lutheran Church and has served as coach and scout leader for his children’s’ activities over the years. His hobbies include snowmobiling, hunting and perusing K-Bid and CraigsList for goodies.
Michelle
After earning a BA in Accounting from the University of Saint Thomas, Michelle worked for an international public accounting firm and obtained her CPA in 1998. After spending a decade at home with the children (where she says she learned patience and humility, as well as honed her organizational skills), Michelle has worked for small businesses both as an employee and consultant. Michelle loves to read, cook, garden and organize any and all things.
Chandler
Chandler followed in his father’s footsteps, joining in on concrete and masonry work on weekends and summers as a teenager. After graduation from High School, Chandler spent four years with the Air Force Ammo, serving in Guam and North Dakota. In North Dakota, he managed deployment logistics. Chandler loves all the toys, both operating on the job equipment and in his personal life. Chandler enjoys motorcycling, snowmobiling, building and remodeling. He is always up for a challenge.
Leo
Affectionately known as ‘Papa Leo’, Leo is the patriarch that started it all. After being raised on a farm in Long Prairie MN, Leo served his country with Army Communications in Vietnam before coming home to marry his wife and raise four kids in Fridley MN. Leo spent his days working as a union bricklayer and concrete finisher. He passed on his hard working farm ethic to his boys, bringing them work with him on side jobs in the evenings and on Saturdays. It must have stuck, because Steve now runs SCS and Leo’s other son, Russ, joins the crew each summer while off from his regular job as a high school art teacher.
